Description

Some concept art (plus a small bio) for my version of Shingyoku for my Touhou Project HRtP fan comic. Some more character reference pictures from the first Touhou game will be coming soon.

First Form: Shingyoku "the gatekeeper"
Shingyoku's first form is a glowing red and white yin yang orb with white and red markings. This forms job is to stop Reimu Hakurei from entering the gates of Hell and Makai. The orb rolls and tries to slam into its enemy when fighting. The yin yang ball has the ability to change into two forms who are both female (on the left) and male (on the right). Sometimes Shingyoku splits into the two separately.

Second Form: Sin / Shin "The positive"
Shingyoku's second form is a female priestess in red robes with long with flowing red hair, horns and glowing blue eyes. Her part of orbs name (Shin) roughly translates to God. Shin's the more upbeat and positive half of the yin yang orb who smiles a lot and loves to fight intruders. She's usually in charge and uses a wand when fighting.

Third Form: Gyoku "The negative"
Shingyoku's third form is a male priest in white and blue robes with glowing red eyes. His part of the orbs name (Gyoku) roughly translates to Ball. Gyoku's the more upsetting and negative half of the yin yang orb who can get very angry and confused easily. He's usually in a praying stance when fighting.

You managed to capture the original designs (those tiny pixilated designs) and turn them into something beautiful, yet still true to their source. I also like how for Shingyoku's second and third forms name's you simply split the original. Keep up the good work!
